Aesthetic Correction
Midline Diastema is a space or gap between two teeth. Diastema is an adjustable dental condition. This includes traditional braces, Invisalign, dental bands or direct dental bonding to make the teeth wider and thus fill up the space. One problem with orthodontic correction is relapse: There is a strong propensity for the gap to reappear after treatment. This can be addressed by bonding a permanent retainer to the inside surfaces of the teeth to prevent the diastemia from reopening. Veeners can also be used to close the gap.
Frenectomy
- Lingual frenectomy (of the tongue) as treatment for ankyloglossia.
- Labial frenectomy (of the lip) is very common with patients undergoing denture treatment in order to get the proper fit of dentures or patients who have tissues attached to centre of upper lip and causing recession of gums or gap between the upper front teeth called central incisors.
- A frenectomy can also be performed to remove a section of tissue (the frenulum) that attached to the gingival tissue between two teeth.

Crown lengthening
Crown lengthening is a surgical procedure performed by a dentist to expose a greater amount of tooth structure for the purpose of subsequently restoring the tooth prosthetically. This is done by incising the gingival tissue around a tooth and, after temporarily displacing the soft tissue, predictably removing a given height of alveolar bone from the circumference of the tooth or teeth being operated on.
Veneers
Thin porcelain or acrylic shells that are attached to the front part of the teeth are called Veneers. Veneers are used to fix –
- Discolouration of teeth
- Stains
- Chipped, broken, uneven or irregularly shaped teeth
- Space between the teeth could be closed
Veneers give a natural appearance to the tooth.
